SOME PROMISES TO THE SIKHS
1. " The Congress assures
the Sikhs that no solution
any future constitution ( of India ) will be accep-
table to the Congress that does not give the Sikhs
full satisfaction . "

AND AGAIN
When will the conscience of India awake ?
The World will not forgive the Indian
rulers for their
crimes against their own people .
There will be a day of reckoning .
A RECORD OF BETRAYAL
1. 1950
The Indian Constitution was adopted . The Sikh
leaders did not endorse it because all promises
and assurances previously made were ignored .
2. 1954
When Jawaharlal Nehru was reminded of past
promises , he answered , " The circumstances
have
now changed "

Mrs. Gandhi was found guilty of election fraud by
the Indian courts . She suspended the constitution
to stay in office . The Sikhs spearheaded a non
violent protest against this blow to democracy .
50,000 Sikhs went to jail . Indira Gandhi never
forgot that the Sikhs had opposed her one person
rule .
1981-1984
More than 250 Sikhs were butchered by Indian
security forces in fake encounters . More than
250,000 were arrested during this period while
peacefully demanding state autonomy for Punjab
and the rest of the state in India and their just
share of Punjab rivers water as envisaged by
international riparian laws .
7. 1984
Indira Gandhi's irresponse to the Sikhs was
uniquely senseless . From June 5-7 a full scale
army attack was launched on the Golden Temple
and 40 other temples , killing thousands of
innocent Sikhs - men , women and children . The
dead have never been accounted .
8. 1984
After Indira Gandhi's death , thousands of
innocent Sikhs - men women and children were
raped , maimed and killed in Delhi and many other
cities all across India . Now almost eight years
later , still not a single person has been arrested
or tried .
9. 1985
The Punjab Accords were signed between the
Indian government & Sikhs . Now seven ( 7 ) years
later , not a single provision has been fulfilled by
the Government .
10. 1967 to 1987
Five popularly elected State governments in the
Punjab were dismissed by the Indian government
only because they represented a political party
different from that of Indira Gandhi's congress .
11. The countryside of Punjab has been wasted by
Indian Army . Sikh men are routinely rounded up
and killed in fake encounters every day .
12. According to the Indian Government , figures
since 1987 , more than 8,000 Sikh young men have
been killed in " so - called Police encounters " .
Government Official figures indicated that from
April '90 to August '91 , over 4000 Sikhs
were
killed by security forces .
13. Since the newly installed Congress - I ,
puppet
government in Punjab over
3,500
innocent Sikhs including women
and children have been
executed
by the state security
forces .
